PS6 Leak: 30GB RAM Power and a Price Jump Ahead

New info says the PlayStation 6 (PS6) could have 30GB of super-fast RAM. That’s almost twice as much as the PS5’s 16GB. It might make games look amazing and run smoothly. But RAM prices are crazy high right now, so the PS6 could cost $100 extra.
When the PS6 comes out with the rumored 30GB of memory, I wonder what excuse AMD and Nvidia will find for still releasing 8GB GPUs… pic.twitter.com/SREYWxEULz

A leaker named Kepler L2 shared this. He says it’s reliable info from hardware experts. The RAM is a GDDR7 type, new and speedy. It uses 10 small chips, each 3GB, on a special bus that moves data at 640GB per second. Earlier guesses said 24GB, but now it’s 30GB.
Sony hasn’t said anything official. Rumors say PS6 starts making in 2027 and launches late 2027 or early 2028. That’s still a couple of years away. It could be 3 times faster than PS5 overall.
Why so much RAM? Big games need it for sharp graphics, quick loads, and cool effects like real lights and shadows. PS5 feels old for some new titles; this fixes that.
But there’s a problem: a worldwide RAM shortage. Prices jumped 110% this quarter. SSDs are up 60% too. One person said 20GB is enough to save money. Kepler says no, 30GB is a must. Sony might pay more at first, but wait for prices to drop.
Public reactions on (X) Twitter to this news are largely skeptical and cautious about Sony’s plans.
One user questioned how Sony would manage to secure enough memory chips to provide each PS6 with 30GB of memory, suggesting that the company may be too optimistic about its supply chain given current shortages.
How the hell is Sony gonna secure enough memory chips to give each PS6 its own 30GB of memory?
Sony seems to be overly optimistic with their supply chain lol.

It was predicted by another user that the PS6 itself could be delayed, while a rumored handheld device might be launched sooner instead.
PS6 will probably be delayed. They may launch the rumored handheld next year though.

A third tweet also expressed doubt about the claimed 30GB of VRAM, arguing that such specifications seem unrealistic in today’s market conditions.
Highly doubt it will be 30 gb of vram. Especially whats going on today

Think of it like a car engine. More RAM is like a bigger engine faster, but uses pricier gas until it gets cheaper. Past leaks match this: powerful AMD parts inside. PS6 wants to beat rivals like next Xbox. For gamers, exciting times! But get ready for a higher price tag, maybe $700 instead of $600. Sony loves winning with top tech. We’ll see what they announce.
