Ethics & Standards

At GizTimes, our reputation depends on the trust we build with our audience. We adhere to a rigorous set of standards designed to ensure our tech journalism is honest, accurate, and fair. This document outlines the core values that guide our newsroom every day.

1. Our Core Values

  • Truth Above All: We do not manipulate technical data to fit a narrative. We report real-world performance benchmarks and software stability, even when it contradicts manufacturer claims.

  • Independence: We answer only to our readers. Our reviews and analysis are not influenced by advertisers, hardware manufacturers, or venture capital interests.

  • Fairness: We strive to present multiple viewpoints on controversial industry shifts, such as AI regulation or digital privacy. We give companies and subjects of criticism a fair chance to respond before publication.

  • Transparency: We show our work. We clearly state our testing methodologies and tell you where we got our information.

2. Standards of Practice

Integrity in Reporting

  • No Pay-for-Play: We do not pay sources for interviews, nor do we accept payment for positive product reviews.

  • Attribution: We do not plagiarize. All information derived from other tech outlets or research papers is clearly attributed with links to the original source.

  • Conflict of Interest: Our staff is prohibited from owning significant stock in the companies they cover to prevent bias in our reporting.

Technical & Visual Integrity

  • No Manipulation: Photos and videos of products must depict reality. We do not digitally alter images to hide design flaws or misrepresent hardware performance.

  • Labeling: If an image is an AI-generated “Photo Illustration” or a generic stock image, it will be clearly labeled in the caption to avoid misleading our audience.

3. Community & Accountability

  • Civil Discourse: We value the conversation with our readers but require civil discourse. We do not tolerate hate speech or digital harassment in our comment sections.

  • Public Accountability: We recognize that we are not perfect. When we fall short of these standards, we expect our readers to hold us accountable.

  • Corrections: Factual errors are corrected immediately in accordance with our Corrections Policy.
