iPhone 18 Pro Leak: Dynamic Island Reportedly 35% Narrower

A trusted tipster named “Ice Universe” says the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max will have a Dynamic Island that’s 35% narrower. It will measure about 13.5mm wide, down from 20.7mm on the iPhone 17 Pro.

He shared a picture on X to show how it looks. Apple will show these phones in September 2026.
Apple is only hiding one part of Face ID under the screen—the flood illuminator. This lets them shrink the pill-shaped black cutout but not remove it fully. Earlier news thought the whole Face ID would go under-screen, leaving just a tiny hole for the camera. But that’s not happening yet.

Expert Ross Young, who often gets display info right, says this smaller cutout will stick around until at least 2027. So, no full smooth screen for iPhones anytime soon.
Ice Universe has shared correct iPhone sizes before, so people trust him. But he’s not always 100% right. Rumors already hinted at a tinier Dynamic Island on both Pro models.
This means bigger screens with less black space blocking videos or apps. The iPhone 18 Pro has a 6.3-inch display, and Pro Max is even larger. Apple keeps improving step by step, unlike some phones with no cutouts.
Fans are excited as iPhone 18 talk grows after iPhone 17. We’ll know for sure at Apple’s event this fall.
