Update Your iPhone to iOS 26.2 Now: Fix Big Security Holes

iPhone users with iPhone 11 or later: Update to iOS 26.2 right away, then restart your phone. Why? Two serious WebKit bugs were fixed by Apple on December 12, 2025. These bugs are already being used by bad guys to hack phones with spyware. Bad code can be run by hackers just through a fake website being visited by you in Safari or another app.
Safari and lots of iPhone apps are run by WebKit. So, a huge weak spot is created. Nothing risky needs to be done by you—the hack can occur from normal web use or even HTML emails being read in Apple Mail. Apple says the attacks first hit big targets like diplomats, but they could easily spread to just about anyone. The fixes and cool new safety features—like stronger memory protection—only kick in on iOS 26 and up.
Many people skip the update because they don’t like new features like Liquid Glass. Right now, in January 2026, just 4.6% of iPhones have iOS 26.2. About 16% have any iOS 26 version. Most are stuck on old ones like iOS 18, with no protection. Older phones can’t get these fixes at all.
Hidden spyware that lives in memory is wiped out (unless it is super advanced). It just need a restart which is forced by updates, so you will achieve protection plus a clean slate .
How to Update Fast:
- Open Settings > General > Software Update.
- Install iOS 26.2.
- Turn on Automatic Updates there.
Extra Safety Tips
- Restart your phone weekly—NSA recommends it for clearing threats.
