Director Speaks on Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3, Assures Fans About High Quality on All Platforms

Director Naoki Hamaguchi has said that releasing the third part of the Final Fantasy VII Remake series on multiple platforms will not reduce the game’s quality. In an interview covered by IGN, he responded to fans who were worried that making the game for more systems could force the team to lower graphics or performance.
Hamaguchi explained that the team starts development using high-end PC hardware. This means the game is first built at the best possible quality. After that, the team adjusts the game so it runs properly on other platforms. He said this method helps them avoid making the game around weaker hardware.
He also said the decision to release the game on more platforms is partly because the PC gaming market has grown a lot in recent years, both in Japan and around the world. Earlier parts of the remake series did well on PC, which encouraged Square Enix to reach more players.
The director added that the team plans to keep focusing on strong performance in every version of the game. He pointed out that when Final Fantasy VII Rebirth came to PC, some players noticed better performance and more graphics options than on consoles. The same approach will be used for the final part.
On X (Twitter), fans shared different opinions about the announcement by the Director Naoki Hamaguchi.
One said that fans who worry about quality are not being negative, but actually care a lot about the series and want it to stay good.
Fans worried about quality are the ones who care most about the series.

Another player said they felt Part 2 was not as strong as Part 1 in some ways, and they hope the next game will be better.
part 2 was lower quality than 1 so maybe this will improve things

At the same time, one fan agreed with the director, saying that if the developers focus on quality first, the game can still be great even if it releases on many platforms.
Quality first always wins no matter how many platforms it hits.

Hamaguchi also shared a small update on development. He said the main parts of the game are almost finished, and the team is now working on polishing and improving details.
Some features from Rebirth will return as well. The Queen’s Blood card game, which many players enjoyed, will be back in a bigger and improved form.
The Final Fantasy VII Remake project first started as a PlayStation-focused release, but recent launches on PC and other platforms show that Square Enix is now aiming to bring the series to a wider audience. The third game does not yet have a release date, but development is moving forward steadily.
