The 2 New Trucks Launched By Ram: HELLCAT TRX & Power Wagon Set To Launch This Year

Ram is making a bold statement about the future of performance trucks. The brand has officially announced the return of its legendary TRX pickup along with the introduction of a diesel-powered Power Wagon. Both the trucks are set to hit the market for the 2027 model year.

Interestingly, these two high-performance trucks arrive at a time when emissions regulations are easing. Now automakers have more flexibility to offer large displacement and high output engines. This shift has opened doors for Ram for reviving its aggressive and capable pickups.

Two models that are in the news are the 2027 Ram 1500 SRT HELLCAT TRX and the Ram 2500 Power Wagon Cummins diesel.

The parent company Stellantis has changed its focus to internal combustion vehicles, a move taken due to recent changes to U.S. fuel economy regulations. The rollback of stricter Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standards has reduced pressure on automakers to rely heavily on electrification. Stellantis CEO Antonio Filosa recently emphasized that future powertrain decisions will be driven more by customer demand than regulatory targets. With the revised mileage requirements in the new norm, electric vehicles don’t look to be participating much in the latter, so these high-power trucks make more sense in the market now.

The Ram 1500 SRT TRX is officially back. It is powered by a supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat V8 engine; the 2027 TRX delivers a staggering 777 horsepower and 680 pound-feet of torque. The company estimates a 0–60 mph time of just 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 118 mph, placing it at par with the quickest pickup trucks on the market right now. Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis says the new TRX will be even more capable than its predecessor, which was discontinued after the 2024 model year. The TRX is designed to dominate both off-road and on-road terrain, and it is also expected to be the fastest and most powerful production gas-powered half-ton pickup truck in the world.

Pricing for the 2027 Ram SRT TRX Truck starts at $99,995, excluding a $2,595 destination fee. Sales are expected to begin in the second half of 2026. Here is a sneak peek look at the interior of the TRX truck:

Now, coming to the big brother of the TRX, the Ram 2500 Power Wagon 6.7L Cummins diesel. This beast has a 20,000 lb towing capacity, a 470 horsepower turbo diesel engine, and an impressive 1,075 pound-feet of torque. The beast is a mean truck meant only for business. With that much torque, it can pull anything. A tank capacity of 31 gallons and an estimated driving range of 600 miles make it ideal for any long and demanding jobs. According to Kuniskis, customers have been asking for a Cummins-powered Power Wagon for years, and Ram is finally delivering.

The diesel Power Wagon will also go on sale in the second half of 2026, with a starting price of $88,470. For more info, you can visit their website.

These trucks are meant to cater to every customer’s needs, whether it is sheer speed or whether it is power and torque. Ram has given options for everyone. And what will be the customer experience? We would only be able to tell that once it is completely launched. But Ram has give a clear statement with the return of the TRX and the launch of a diesel Power Wagon that it is doubling down on performance, capability, and customer choice.
