Capcom’s ads for Resident Evil Requiem (RE9) have made fans excited, but also a little upset. The game will release on February 27, 2026, but there is no demo before launch. This is different from Capcom’s usual practice because they gave demos for earlier games like Resident Evil Village and the Resident Evil 4 remake. Many fans expected a demo after PlayStation’s State of Play on February 12, which was two weeks before the release. However, no demo was announced. People think Capcom wants to hide big surprises and stop leaks.

They showed Leon S. Kennedy late, in 2025. He is a big fan favorite. Trailers hint at Sherry Birkin and a new sickness called “Raccoon City Syndrome.” It is like the old T-virus. It slept in the Raccoon City survivors for years. Now it wakes up. The writer guesses old heroes like Jill Valentine, Claire Redfield, Ada Wong, and Carlos Oliveira will return. This ties to Resident Evil’s 25th birthday art with all the main characters.

No demo hurts PC players most. They want to test if the game runs well on their computers. Events like Gamescom 2025 let some people play it. But no one at home can try yet. The writer loves the RE4 remake. He played 420 hours total, with 22 hours just on its demo. He says no demo is a big letdown. Past demos got spoiled by hackers who dug into files, like in Village. Capcom’s boss, Akifumi Nakanishi, said “nothing decided yet.” This keeps fans guessing.

Public reactions on (X0 Twitter show a mix of hope and skepticism about the situation involving Capcom and Sony.

One user said they have heard a similar theory before and are hoping it turns out to be true, which suggests cautious optimism and belief in speculation surrounding the announcement.

Another user rejected the theory. They said the PS4 logo at the end of the trailers is just because of Capcom’s deal with Sony. They also mentioned that recent games like Monster Hunter Wilds and Pragmata had the PS4 logo in their trailers, too. This means the logo does not prove the game is exclusive or getting special treatment.

The game goes back to the Raccoon City ideas. You solve puzzles, find a few items, hide from monsters, and run from a huge one up tall buildings. You can switch between first-person and third-person views for more scares, like RE7. Grace Ashcroft starts the story. She is the daughter of Alyssa from Outbreak. This hints at switching heroes later.

Trailers show fun action. You manage your bag, heal with green herbs, trick enemies with the world around you, and see real details like sweat. Leon fights his infection. This makes the story the deepest ever. The writer likes it more than Crimson Desert for 2026.

Keeping secrets builds hype. It protects old character returns and virus facts. You get fresh scares on launch day across PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, and PC. Capcom used to drop demos two weeks early for RE2, RE3, and RE4 remakes. Fans expected that. Now, with games on more systems and spoiler worries, they have changed. People complain online but like saving surprises over quick looks.

Requiem ends at RE’s 30th birthday. It has over 1 million wishlists after Summer Game Fest. It mixes old Raccoon police station spots with mind games, fear, and fights. The wait makes everyone want it more. But please, Capcom, no big reveals in the launch trailer. That would ruin it. February 27 is almost here.
