Starlink, owned by Elon Musk, has announced free internet services, followed by extreme political instability in Venezuela due to recent military operations by the U.S. that dethroned President Nicolas Maduro. Starlink has taken this initiative to ensure continued connectivity through satellite internet services. In these tough times, Elon has publicly shown support for the citizens. The services are going to be free of cost, and people of Venezuela can use them till February 3, 2026.

The announcement of free services came just after the capture of Maduro, the President of Venezuela. Donald Trump has characterized this operation as a strong example of military competence, Trump said that there will be active involvement of U.S. in determining Venezuela’s future. While talking to Fox News, Trump has cleared that the U. S. will step into the matter. ” We will be involved in it very much” he said. “We can’t take a chance in letting somebody else run and just take over what he left,” he added. Trump wants to ensure that Maduro must face federal charges. Trump ensured that U.S, will look after the country until it gets a safe, proper and judicious transition.
To fulfill the Vacant Presidency, Venezuela’s Supreme Court has ordered Vice President Delcy Rodríguez to take over the Presidency as acting president to maintain continuity in the governance of the country.
Elon has retweeted the Starlink’s post and written “In support of the people of Venezuela” , it can be seen through two different lens, one is that he is genuine and wants to help people or it is a way to outsmart government imposed blackouts or infrastructure failures. Although we don’t know the motive but, many have characterized it as a humble gesture from Elon Musk. The services will be temporary and will expire after February 3, 2026.
