HYDERABAD, India (GizTimes) — Kia has revealed the all-new 2027 Seltos, and this update feels like a proper step forward rather than just a small refresh. The SUV was first shown at Kia’s R&D center in Hyderabad and later at the New York Auto Show.
One of the first things you notice is the size. The new Seltos is bigger in every direction, which directly helps with more space inside. Rear seat passengers get better legroom, and the cabin overall feels more open and comfortable for daily use.
The design has also changed quite a bit. It now looks sharper and more modern, taking some ideas from Kia’s electric cars. The front gets a bold grille and new LED lights, while the rear has connected tail lamps that give it a cleaner look.
Inside, the biggest change is the dashboard. Kia has added a large screen setup that stretches across the front, combining the driver display, infotainment, and climate controls. It looks more modern, but Kia has also tried to keep it practical. Features like wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a Bose sound system, ambient lighting, and a panoramic sunroof make the cabin feel more premium.
For the first time, the Seltos will also get a hybrid option. In the U.S., buyers can choose between a regular petrol engine, a turbo petrol, and the new hybrid version. The hybrid is expected to offer better fuel efficiency along with all-wheel drive. In India and other markets, Kia will continue offering petrol and diesel engines with different gearbox options.
Safety has also been improved. The SUV comes with multiple airbags, disc brakes, and advanced driver assistance features like adaptive cruise control, blind-spot alerts, and a 360-degree camera.
The starting price in the U.S. is expected to be around $27,000. Petrol versions will arrive first, while the hybrid model will come a bit later.
Public reactions feel very real and relatable, especially from people who are actually planning to buy the car. Some users are disappointed that important features like alloy wheels and full LED headlights are missing in manual versions. For them, it feels unfair because they prefer manual cars but still want top features.
At the same time.
A few people shared a sense of “bad timing.” They said they would have bought the new Seltos if it had launched just a little earlier, which shows how timing can affect buying decisions.
On the other hand, there are also excited buyers in the discussion. Some are already booking the car, discussing delivery dates, variants, and even color choices. Overall, people clearly like the car, but they are also thinking carefully about features, options, and when to buy.
Overall, this new Seltos feels more complete. It is bigger, more comfortable, and now offers more choices, especially with the addition of a hybrid for people who want better efficiency.
