ANUPPUR, India (GizTimes) — In March 2026, Stranger Than Heaven is officially revealed in the Xbox Partner Preview. The game will launch on different platforms such as Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, and PlayStation 5. It will also be available on Xbox Game Pass from day one and support Xbox Play Anywhere.
The game tells a story across five different time periods — 1915, 1929, 1943, 1951, and 1965. Each time period is set in a different city in Japan. The story connects all these timelines, showing how people and places change over the years.
A new trailer showed the gameplay. The combat looks fast and intense, with players fighting multiple enemies at once. You can use different weapons, perform grappling moves, and use the environment during fights.
The game also keeps the studio’s usual style. It has detailed locations, small daily-life activities like traveling on old trams, and side elements such as food and possible romance stories. These are features fans often expect from Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio.
A special event called Xbox Presents: A Special Look at Stranger Than Heaven will take place on May 6, 2026. This event will show more about the story, characters, and voice cast.
The game was first teased as Project Century at The Game Awards 2024 before getting its official name in 2025. The trailers have also featured a jazz-style soundtrack, which the developers say is an important part of the game.
People on X (Twitter) are reacting in different ways to the announcement of Stranger Than Heaven, but most of them seem interested.
Some users are surprised and curious about the idea of having multiple time periods in one game, saying even big studios like Rockstar haven’t done this before.
Few fans are being careful with their excitement because of their experience with Kiwami 3, so they are not fully trusting it yet.
On the positive side, some people believe the game could become a cult classic, meaning it may not be for everyone but could be loved by a strong group of fans.
One is simply excited and think the game looks very cool, saying they can’t wait to play it.
Other announcements at the same event included a console release date for Hades 2 on April 14, the reveal of Serious Sam: Shatterverse, and a new expansion for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 coming this summer.
More details about Stranger Than Heaven are expected to be shared in May.
