Nothing Technology Limited released two new phones, the Nothing Phone (4a) and the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro, on March 5, 2026. These phones start at £349 and come with a fresh design, faster processors, better displays, and smarter features. They are upgrades from last year’s models, with stronger builds and longer software support. You can also choose from fun colors like pink and blue. Both come with Nothing OS 4.1 on Android 16, plus 3 years of big updates and 6 years of security fixes.

The basic Phone (4a) looks a lot like the Phone (3a) but adds new colors with colored glass on pink and blue ones, plus black and white. It now handles dust and splashes better with an IP64 rating. The Glyph lights on the back use 63 tiny LEDs in 7 areas. They show notifications, charging status, and work with Android 16’s live updates no need for sounds or screen lights.
The fancier Phone (4a) Pro has a solid metal body that’s only 7.95mm thick. It skips most see-through parts on the back, keeping them just around the cameras (looks a bit like an iPhone). It has a small back screen called Glyph Matrix with 137 LEDs for games and fun stuff, but no button to control it like on pricier models. It’s fully waterproof with IP68 and comes in black, silver, or pink.
People who tried it say the Pro feels premium but less “see-through” than before. Some wonder if it loses Nothing’s unique style. Both phones use tougher Gorilla Glass 7i that resists scratches and falls better than the previous version. The Phone (4a) has a 6.78-inch screen with 120Hz refresh for smooth scrolling and bright colors, great for games like Battlefield or Resident Evil movies. The Pro ups it to 6.83 inches with 144Hz and even brighter for sunny days. Videos and apps look sharp and fast.
Public reactions on Twitter show a mix of admiration and criticism about the phone.]
One user said the device looks very premium, appreciating its design and build quality.
Another user questioned the pricing strategy, saying that if someone is already spending that much money, it might make more sense to spend a little more and buy Nothing Phone (3) instead.
A third user praised the metal body and improved display but criticized the base model for having only 128GB of storage at a price of around ₹40,000, arguing that it may feel limiting for everyday use, especially for people who use the camera a lot.
Inside, the Nothing Phone (4a) uses the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chip, which helps the phone run fast and smoothly. It comes with 8GB of RAM, and you can upgrade to 12GB if you want more power. For storage, you get 128GB, with an option to go up to 256GB.
This makes the phone quick for everyday tasks like using apps, browsing, and trying simple AI features. The Essential Space feature has also improved. It can now save your files to the cloud and connect easily with your favorite apps, making it easier to keep things organized..
The Pro gets the stronger Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 about 30% faster for games and tasks, with better AI for things like photo edits or smart helpers. Both have a 5,080mAh battery that lasts a full day and charges at 50W wired speed—no wireless charging to keep costs down.
Cameras are solid upgrades. Phone (4a) has three 50MP lenses: main, 3.5x zoom, and wide-angle (probably 8MP Sony). Plus a 32MP front camera for selfies. Good for normal photos and some zoom. The Pro matches with three 50MP cameras too: top Sony LYT700C main, 3.5x zoom that goes far (140x digital), and wide. It shoots 4K videos with great colors (Dolby Vision) and works well in low light. The front camera is also 32MP. Perfect for travel pics or videos.
Prices are mostly good, but Pro costs more than last year:
Phone (4a) colors: Black, White, Blue, Pink
- 8GB/128GB: £349 / ₹31,999 / €349
- 8GB/256GB: ₹34,999 / €389
- 12GB/256GB: £399 / ₹37,999 / €429
Phone (4a) Pro colors: Black, Silver, Pink
- 8GB/128GB: £499 / ₹39,999 / $499 / €479
- 8GB/256GB: ₹42,999
- 12GB/256GB: £549 / ₹45,999 / $599 / €549
The base model is cheaper than before (£349 vs £379). Order Phone (4a) today from Nothing’s site sales start March 13. Pro orders March 13, sales March 27. No base in the US, but Pro comes there. The software is clean and simple, with Glyph lights for alerts and music beats. Essential Space helps organize your apps and cloud files easily. Long updates mean these phones stay fresh for years.
These phones stand out in the busy mid-range world against Samsung or Google. Glyph lights, fast chips, and low prices make them fun picks. Pro fights bigger phones with its zoom camera and speed. The base model feels like a high-end phone but costs less. It starts at about ₹31,999, which makes it a good option for people in India.
Early hands-on reviews say the phone is powerful and runs smoothly. However, some people think the new design may not be liked by everyone. Pre-orders are already open, and Nothing Technology Limited continues to make exciting Android phones
