Samsung has started testing One UI 8.5. It comes with a new version of Bixby, the voice assistant on Galaxy phones. The new Bixby sounds more natural and talks in a friendly way. You can control your phone using simple voice commands. It also helps you search the internet quickly and solve small phone problems easily. This makes everyday tasks faster and easier. The test version is now available in Germany, India, South Korea, Poland, the UK, and the US. More countries will get it soon.

The big change turns old Bixby into a smart helper. It gets what you mean without exact words or menu hunting. “Since our first AI phone in 2024, we want everyone to use AI easily,” said Won-Joon Choi, a top boss at Samsung’s phone team. “We fixed Bixby so it chats naturally and controls your phone without hassle.”

Bixby makes it easy to control your phone. You can just speak normally and say what you want. It will find the right setting, change it, or fix the problem quickly. You don’t have to open menus or remember technical names. Bixby understands simple words and does the job for you.

For example, you can say, “Don’t turn off the screen while I’m reading,” and it will adjust the setting for you.

Bixby turns on “Keep Screen on While Viewing” right away. Or ask: “Why does my screen stay on in my pocket?” Bixby checks and shows fixes like Accidental Touch Protection. You can turn it on with one tap. This stops guessing games. It’s great for new users or anyone who forgets phone tricks.

Other helpers just tell you what to do. Bixby looks at your phone now and gives the best fix. It makes things like screen brightness, alerts, and connections super simple. Galaxy phones with AI feel much easier to use. Bixby can now grab fresh info from the web inside its own screen. No jumping to a browser. It answers questions fast and shows results there.

The public reaction on the Reddit thread r/Terraria appears largely sarcastic and dismissive toward the announcement.

One commenter states, “The most useful thing Samsung ever created was modes and routines. Everything else is bloaty bull shit,” which reflects frustration with Samsung’s broader software ecosystem. Here, the user implies that Samsung tends to overload its devices with unnecessary features (“bloatware”), suggesting they believe the newly announced feature will likely be similarly unnecessary or poorly optimized.

Another comment, “can’t wait to never use it,” uses irony to signal a lack of interest and anticipation—essentially expressing that the feature adds no practical value for them.

The third comment, “another gemini wrapper lol,” means the person thinks the new feature is not something original. They believe it is just based on Google’s Gemini AI and only slightly changed or rebranded. In simple words, they feel the company did not create anything new, but just reused existing technology and gave it a different name

“Find kid-friendly hotels with pools in Seoul.” Bixby searches and lists options right away. No breaks. It mixes phone control with web help, making Bixby your all-in-one buddy. You can join the One UI 8.5 test now in those countries. Use the Samsung Members app on your Galaxy phone. The full version and more places come later. Check Samsung’s test page or their Bixby site for info.

This fits Samsung’s plan since 2024 to make AI simple for all. It builds on Galaxy AI tools. Putting smart help right in the phone beats rivals like Google Assistant or Apple Intelligence. It helps people who aren’t tech experts. Test users say tasks take fewer steps. Bixby could change how voice helpers work on Android phones. With AI getting better, Samsung’s easy-talk control might lead the way. Web links keep answers current in our fast world.
