Samsung’s Galaxy Z Roll 5G might totally change phones. They’re talking about a new phone for late 2026. The screen is 12.4 inches big and rolls out like a window shade. No fold or hinge. A motor just slides it open nice and smooth. This ends the ugly lines and fat shape of foldable phones. You get a slim phone that turns into a big tablet for work or movies.

The screen is the star. It’s a 12.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display. It glides out using a rack-and-pinion motor. Think of it like unrolling a map. A strong inner frame keeps it flat and strong when open. No crease shows up, unlike foldables. You can adjust the size. Roll it a bit for wide movies (21:9). Roll it all for spreadsheets or multitasking (4:3 or 16:10). It’s like a phone that changes shape to fit what you need.

Inside, it’s super powerful. It runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chip, made on 2nm tech. That’s tiny and cool-running. You get 16GB of RAM and up to 2 TB of storage. It has “Standalone DeX.” That means desktop apps run right on the big screenno extra monitor needed. Edit videos or draw designs like on a laptop. The battery is huge: 8,000mAh. It charges fast at 100W wired or 25W wireless. The motor uses power, but the chip saves energy.

The screen gets super bright—3,000 nits. Perfect for sunny days. Refresh speed changes from 1Hz to 144Hz. Super smooth for games. Saves battery for reading. Privacy mode hides it from the side. No one can peek. Perfect on a bus or plane. The S Pen stylus writes with a tiny 2.1ms delay. Feels like real paper on the flat screen.

The cameras are awesome. The big one is 324MP. It groups pixels for super clear daytime pics and bright night shots. A 50MP camera zooms 10 times without losing quality. The 12MP wide lens takes close-up macros. Record 8K video smoothly at 60 frames. In full-screen mode, watch the live video next to your edits.

Build is tough. Grade 5 titanium frame. IP68 water and dust proof with special coating. Tiny brushes clean the screen as it rolls back. No dirt jams it.

The announcement sparked discussion among users on Twitter (X) , with many sharing excitement and opinions about the company’s innovation.

One user said they had been waiting almost five years for this product to be officially revealed. Their comment shows that some fans have been expecting this technology for a long time and hope it will finally become a real product in the next few years.

Another user responded sarcastically to critics who often say that Samsung is not innovative. By saying this, the user was pointing out that the announcement actually shows Samsung is still working on new ideas and technology.

The screen is a 12.4-inch rollable AMOLED. It expands smoothly without any creases. It works with a motor system. No folding or gaps, just a clean rollout. The chip is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro on 2nm tech. It’s fast and stays cool. Memory includes 16GB RAM. Storage goes up to 2TB.
Cameras feature a 324MP main lens. There’s a 50MP with 10x zoom. Plus a 12MP wide-angle. The battery is 8,000mAh. It charges at 100W speed. Extras include a tough titanium body. It’s IP68-rated for water and dust resistance. The S Pen has super-fast writing.

It costs around $2,800 when it comes out. That’s expensive for most people. But it’s a fancy showpiece. It shows Samsung is best at screens. One gadget acts as your phone, tablet, and laptop. All fits in your pocket. Talk from March 14, 2026, calls it the future, no more dull flat phones.
