Ubisoft has released new esports-themed cosmetic sets in Rainbow Six Siege. These are called the Y11S1 Esports Legacy Sets and are made to remember some of the most famous moments from the game’s competitive history. The sets are available now for two operators, Doc and IQ. Ubisoft has also confirmed that a part of the money from these sales will go to support the Rainbow Six esports scene and its partner teams.
Players can buy the full bundle for 2700 R6 Credits, which includes all items for both operators along with extra rewards like a special drone skin and an operator background card. If someone wants, they can also buy the bundles separately. The Doc bundle costs 1680 R6 Credits and includes weapon skins, uniform, headgear, charm, and portrait. The IQ bundle is also priced at 1680 R6 Credits and comes with similar items, but with slightly fewer weapon skins.
What makes these sets different is that they are based on real esports moments. The weapon skins have small engraved details that show the player’s name and the match they played in which makes it quite interesting. The uniforms and headgear are inspired by major tournaments like the Six Invitational São Paulo 2024 and the Six Mexico Major 2021. Even the charms are designed to look like actual trophies from big events. The drone skin in the full bundle is based on a famous clutch moment by Zenoxo during the 2022 European Challenger League.
The sets also highlight plays from well-known players. For Doc, the items are linked to moments by Pino, Cyberzera, Rider, and SOLOTOV from different major events. For IQ, the skins are based on plays by Nesk, Wokka, and VertcL, including matches from as far back as 2018.
The reaction on X (Twitter) has been mixed, with some players liking the idea of esports legacy skins, but many also pointed out problems.
A user was confused why certain famous plays were not included, like one fan asking why Stompn didn’t get a skin for his clutch moment.
Others said Ubisoft made mistakes, like giving the wrong weapon skin to Nesk, which made it seem like they didn’t fully understand the players.
Some longtime players also said instead of skins, Ubisoft should bring back old maps and modes to make the game feel like before.
There was also frustration about missing items, especially the IQ pistol skin, as people noticed it was shown first and then removed later, even after some had bought it.
These esports legacy sets are now available in the in-game store and on the official R6 esports web shop. With this release, Ubisoft is trying to bring esports history into the game while also supporting the competitive community.
