HYDERABAD, India (GizTimes) —At the moment, Motorola has introduced the Moto G Stylus (2026) and another Android tablet – the Moto Pad (2026). The former is a continuation of a line that represents the only mid-range smartphone to come with a built-in stylus. Still, in 2026, the company decided to improve stylus capabilities by integrating advanced AI functions and increasing precision levels.
Starting from the price range, the Moto G Stylus (2026) will cost customers $499.99 and will be available from April 16 from Motorola, Amazon, Best Buy, and Google Fi. Its companion, the Moto Pad (2026), will go on sale on April 30 at $249.99. The price level makes this smartphone compete with other high mid-range products like the Google Pixel 10a.
As one of the focal points in the latest release of the Moto G Stylus, there is increased attention paid to its stylus capabilities. Firstly, the stylus provides tilt and pressure sensitivity, so that the writing resembles writing in a notebook, and secondly, it supports AI-powered tools, including sketch-to-image conversion and a handwriting calculator, which can process equations drawn on the display. According to the manufacturer, this stylus can work uninterruptedly for four hours and charge completely in 15 minutes when connected to the phone.
The device comes with a 6.7″ AMOLED display running at a frequency of 120Hz and producing maximum brightness of 5,000 nits. The processor installed inside the Moto G Stylus (2026) is called Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 with 8GB of memory; besides, there are two options for the storage volume, namely, 128GB and 256GB, expandable to 1TB through the use of microSD. In terms of photo hardware, the gadget has a 50MP Sony Lytia 700C sensor as the main sensor with optical image stabilization, 13 MP for the ultra-wide lens, and 32 MP for the front-facing camera. The battery volume equals 5,200mAh and charges at a speed of 68W using the wired connection; the wireless charger has a power capacity of 15W. Android 16 comes pre-installed with the smartphone.
The second novelty released at the moment is called Moto Pad (2026). There is an 11-inch display with a resolution of 2560×1600 supported by a refresh rate of 90Hz. As regards the processor and connectivity technology, Motorola used the following specifications in their tablet: MediaTek D6300 5G with 8 GB of RAM and 128GB of storage capacity extendable to 2TB; four quad speakers supporting Dolby Atmos; the battery volume is 7,040mAh, and the fast-charging power equals 20W.
The significance of the product introduction lies in the fact that this time, Motorola focused not only on hardware but also on particular product features. Given that the hardware improvements have reached their limits, companies have started to introduce more specific features, which could distinguish their product from rivals.
Unlike Motorola, other companies like Google prefer to introduce mid-range devices that perform better than their competitors in terms of camera and processor performance. Thus, Motorola tries to compete with other brands in a more distinctive way, targeting users who need some creative tools on the smartphone or tablet.
Early public reaction on the Reddit Thread from consumers has been varied, with criticisms directed towards the absence of upgrades and pricing strategies. One reviewer said, There aren’t any changes. It encapsulates the notion that the updated version does not provide a significant enhancement compared to its predecessors. Another reviewer noted that the chipset is identical to that of the 2025 model but comes with smaller base storage, making the price higher. In essence, the feedback emphasizes the increased vigilance among consumers regarding updates and pricing strategies, a general phenomenon in the mid-tier segment.
