HYDERABAD, India (GizTimes) —Price Hike Starting April 2, 2026, buying a PlayStation 5 or a PlayStation Portal will cost you more money. Sony is raising the prices for all its current consoles around the world.
If you live in the United States, here is what you will pay starting in April:
- Standard PS5: $649.99
- PS5 Digital Edition: $599.99
- PS5 Pro: $899.99
- PlayStation Portal: $249.99
Prices are also going up in the U.K., Europe, and Japan.
In the U.K., the standard PS5 will now cost £569.99. The Digital Edition will be £519.99, and the Pro will jump to £789.99. The Portal is going up to £219.99.
In Europe, the standard PS5 is moving to €649.99. The Digital version changes to €599.99, and the Pro will be €899.99. The Portal will cost €249.99.
In Japan, the new prices are ¥97,980 for the standard PS5, ¥89,980 for the Digital model, ¥137,980 for the Pro, and ¥39,980 for the Portal.
Sony says a tough global economy is the reason for the change. A company spokesperson explained that with rising costs worldwide, Sony had to raise prices so they can afford to keep making high-quality games and hardware.
If you live outside of these four main areas, Sony suggests checking with your local stores or the official PlayStation website to find out exactly how much the prices will go up in your country.
