Vivo is making the X300 Ultra phone act like a real camera. It comes with two new Zeiss lenses. One zooms to 400mm super far. The other is 200mm and small. There’s also a SmallRig video cage. These kits help beat phones like Sony’s Xperia. They mix phone ease with big camera power. The phone did well in China and is coming worldwide. It has a new 200MP main camera and great video features. Prices and launch dates are not set yet. Hands-on tests show it’s awesome for pros.

The top lens is the 400mm one. It’s the farthest zoom Vivo ever made. It doubles the old reach. Zeiss helped build it. It clicks onto the phone’s lens spot. It works on X200 Ultra and X300 Pro too. Great for animal pics, sports, or close faces from far away. Compared to the old 200mm, it’s a bit longer but not much. It’s wider to catch more light. The new 200mm lens is tiny for daily shots. Easy to switch. It keeps Zeiss coatings for clear, true colors.
These kits are for videos, too. The SmallRig video cage wraps the phone in strong metal. It has two comfy handles. Each handle has Bluetooth buttons for photos and zoom. No need to touch the screen. Perfect grip for moving videos.
You can add gear to the cage. It has screw spots, shoe mounts, and rails. Put on lights that adjust, fans to cool the phone, hard drives for 4K video, mics, or small screens.
The phone helps make movies. All three cameras do 10-bit Log video. You can fix colors later like a pro. New 4K Master Color Video looks smooth like film. Not too sharp or fake. The app tracks sound from the main person. It cuts out background noise. External mics? Not sure yet. Main camera sensor is huge: 1/1.12-inch, 200MP. Much better than the X200 Ultra’s smaller 50MP one. Good in low light with lots of detail.
Hands-on feel is great. The photo kit has a case and grip for steady shots with lenses. Lenses are metal and smooth to attach. They add weight, but the grip helps for long use. Video cage turns a thin phone into a movie tool. Handles feel good. Bluetooth controls are fast. Many ports for extras. Fan was quiet and kept the video smooth in 4K.
Public reactions on (X) Twitter show curiosity and technical discussion about the camera accessory.
One user asked whether the 400mm lens would work with the Vivo X200 Ultra or the Vivo X300 Pro kits, saying they want the 400mm option without upgrading their phone.
Another user replied that the compatibility might be possible if both phones use the same lens mount, but said people will have to wait for the official release to confirm it.
A second commenter pointed out some technical downsides, noting that teleconverters can exacerbate chromatic aberration, increase the minimum focus distance, and reduce image sharpness.
A third user added that not everyone needs such a camera tool, but it can still be very useful for people who want to take clear photos of distant subjects.
Vivo improved on the X200 Ultra kit. That one had a 200mm lens that people loved. Now it’s the same system for new phones. Easy to share parts.
Problems? It’s bulkier for normal users. No prices yet, maybe $200-400 for kits. But Zeiss means top lenses. SmallRig means strong build. Launch soon after China. Could beat Oppo Find X8 Ultra or Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra.
For writers and gadget lovers, Vivo leads the way in camera phones. With the Dimensity 9400 chip talk and price under $1,000, it changes mobile cameras.
