ANUPPUR, India (GizTimes) — Vivo is expanding its mid-premium smartphone lineup in India with the launch of the Vivo V70 FE (Fashion Edition), a device that is mainly focused on battery endurance and camera performance in a competitive price segment. The phone stands out for pairing a massive 7,000 mAh battery with a 200MP main camera, features typically seen separately rather than together in this range.
The Vivo V70 FE starts at ₹37,999 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, while the 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 256GB models are priced at ₹40,999 and ₹44,999 respectively.
The device will go on sale from April 9, 2026, with pre-orders already open across Flipkart, Amazon, Vivo’s online store, and offline retail partners.
At the core of the device is a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 1,900 nits in high brightness mode. It runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7360 Turbo chipset built on a 4nm process, positioned as an overclocked version of the standard Dimensity 7360.
Vivo pairs this with a large battery supporting 90W wired fast charging and bypass charging, a feature aimed at reducing heat during gaming sessions.
The camera system has a 200MP Samsung HP5 sensor with optical image stabilization, accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide lens. On the front, a 50MP camera with Eye Autofocus feature. Additional features include AI-powered 30x zoom, an Aura Light Ring LED for portraits, and multiple focal length options ranging from 23mm to 85mm. The device runs OriginOS 6 based on Android 16, with a commitment to four years of OS updates and six years of security patches.

Vivo has also focused on design elements, introducing a Darkness Glow technology in the Northern Lights Purple variant, where the back panel emits a glow after exposure to light. The phone has a relatively slim profile at around 7.6mm thickness and weighs close to 200 grams. It carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance, along with SGS Five-Star drop resistance certification. Color options include Northern Lights Purple and Monsoon Blue.
Launch offers include a special discounted bundle for Vivo TWS 3e at ₹1,499, 10% instant cashback via major banks, a one-year extended warranty, and additional protection plans. Along with this buyers also get up to 2TB of cloud storage for 18 months through Jio, along with no-cost EMI options for up to ten months.
The launch places Vivo in direct competition within the ₹35,000–₹45,000 bracket, where brands typically prioritize either performance or camera capabilities. By merging a high-resolution sensor with a significantly larger battery than most rivals, Vivo appears to be targeting users who want longevity without compromising imaging features, though chipset choice may influence perception among performance focused buyers.
This matters because the mid-premium segment in India is increasingly defined by balanced hardware rather than single-feature dominance. While Vivo is pushing boundaries with battery capacity and camera resolution, the use of a Dimensity 7300-series platform often seen in more affordable devices raises questions about value alignment, especially as consumers become more spec-aware and performance sensitive in this price range.
Early reactions on X (Twitter) have been mixed. Some users see the device as a strong camera focused option. One comment stated, “Vivo v70 elite / 200 t, which is an ideal one to go for camera, gaming budget 50 to 60k,” pointing expectations for a broader premium lineup.
Others have criticized the processor choice, with a user pointing out, “And Dimensity 7300 (7360 rebrand of the same) for 38k. Processor literally seen in 15k phones,” raising concerns about perceived chipset value. This separation point out a broader trend where consumers increasingly look processor tiers even in feature-rich devices.
The upcoming sales performance after the April 9 release will likely determine whether Vivo’s focus on battery and camera over raw processing power succeeds or fails.
